  • Mon – Fri 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (closed 1–2 pm)
  • Sat by appointment
  • Sun closed
  • Same day, every working day

Emergency slots held back from the diary specifically so we can see you today.

  • £90, no surprise fees

Fixed emergency appointment fee. Any follow-up treatment is quoted before we begin.

  • Calm, attentive care

Anxious patients are very welcome. We'll explain everything before doing anything.

What counts as a dental emergency

The six things we see most often.

If you're unsure, call us anyway. We'd rather hear from you and reassure you it can wait than miss something that shouldn't.

  • Severe toothache or sensitivity

Persistent throbbing pain, pain that wakes you at night, or sharp sensitivity that doesn't settle. Often a sign of infection or a deeper cavity.

  • Knocked-out tooth

Pick the tooth up by the crown (not the root), rinse gently with milk or saliva, and try to slot it back in its socket. Get to us within an hour.

  • Broken or chipped tooth

If a fragment is sharp, cover with sugar-free chewing gum or dental wax. Save the fragment in a sealed container — sometimes we can bond it back.

  • Lost crown, filling or bridge

Not always painful, but the exposed tooth weakens quickly. We'll re-cement where we can, or rebuild if the underlying tooth has fractured.

  • Abscess, swelling or bleeding

Facial swelling, a 'bubble' on the gum, taste of pus, or bleeding that won't stop — call us first thing. Severe spreading swelling needs A&E.

  • Soft-tissue injury

A bitten lip, cheek or tongue that keeps bleeding — apply gentle pressure with clean gauze for 15 minutes. Persistent bleeding after that? Call us.

What to do right now

Four simple steps for the first hour.

A short guide for the first hour. Don't worry about getting these perfect — the most important step is the phone call.

020 3971 2000
  1. 01

    Right now

Call us on 020 3971 2000. Tell whoever answers what's happened — they'll triage and book you in the same day where possible.

  2. 02

    Before you arrive

Take paracetamol or ibuprofen if you can (follow the packet dose). Avoid aspirin if anything is actively bleeding. Sip cold water for a swelling.

  3. 03

    For a knocked-out tooth

Hold it by the crown, rinse briefly (milk if you have it), and try to push it back into the socket. If you can't, put it in a small container of milk — not water — and bring it with you.

  4. 04

    If we're closed

For severe pain or trauma overnight, call NHS 111 — they'll direct you to an out-of-hours dental service. For uncontrolled bleeding, breathing difficulty, or rapidly spreading facial swelling, go to A&E.

Even at midnight, on a Sunday, or during a bank holiday — our voicemail gives you a direct out-of-hours number for urgent dental issues. Try this before NHS 111; you'll usually reach someone who can actually help with the dental problem itself.

Frequently asked

What patients ask us in the moment.

I'm in pain right now — can you see me today?
Yes — we keep emergency appointments available every working day. Call us on 020 3971 2000 as early as you can and we'll do everything we can to see you the same day. Emergency appointment is £90 plus the cost of any treatment needed.
What does the emergency appointment fee cover?
The £90 emergency appointment covers a focused examination, X-ray if needed, diagnosis, and pain relief or temporary treatment. Definitive treatment (fillings, root canal, extractions, antibiotics, etc.) is charged separately at our standard fees — we will quote those before doing anything.
Will it cost more because it's same-day?
Same-day appointments during our opening hours are a fixed £90, plus the cost of any treatment — same treatment cost as a planned visit. Out-of-hours emergency call-outs (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) are £300, again plus the cost of treatment, reflecting the on-call clinician time.
I'm not a patient at the practice — can I still come?
Yes. We see emergency patients who are not currently registered with us. If you'd like to register as a new patient after the emergency visit, we can arrange that at the same time.
Can I get 0% finance for emergency treatment?
Yes — once we've stabilised the immediate problem and quoted any further treatment, you can spread the cost via Chrysalis Finance at 0% APR for up to 12 months (subject to status). See our dental finance page for the full terms.
What if I'm too anxious to call?
You don't have to phone. If you're too anxious to call, you can book an emergency appointment online or reach us through our contact form, and a friend or relative is welcome to call on your behalf. That said, calling is still the best way to secure an immediate, same-day appointment, so do ring us if you can. For how we look after anxious and nervous patients — including IV sedation when it's needed — see our dental anxiety guide on the blog.

If in doubt, call us

We'd much rather you rang us than waited it out. We answer the phone within a few rings during opening hours.
